Bracknell Forest Safeguarding Board

Adult safeguarding forums

Last updated: 23/04/2020

The Forum has been resurrected as a means of disseminating information from partner organisations to a wide variety of agencies and members of the community. People/organisations invited included staff from care homes, those offering care at home, carers groups, support groups, local community groups etc. We aim to gather information and views from partner agencies and community members to help shape our strategies.

We aim to ‘work closely with the voluntary sector in recognition of its growing role in safeguarding, early intervention and prevention and community resilience; along with effective mechanisms for information sharing across the sector and amongst communities’.

The first of the ‘redeveloped’ forums was held on 4th March 2019, and it is the intention to develop this further to ensure there are opportunities for interactive discussions and information sharing. It is also the intention to run it on a more regular basis – feedback as to what this might look like will be welcome, as well as suggestions of a more appropriate name for the ‘forum’. We would also like to hear if there are any specific areas / topics for agenda items. Please contact the Bracknell Forest Safeguarding Board (BSAB) with your suggestions.

A second forum, aimed specifically at providers within RBWM, followed on 28th June 2019. Details of this forum are also given below.

‘Hidden people / Hidden abuse / Hidden risk’

The theme for this first meeting arose from other meetings that the SAB facilitates and looked at those ‘hidden’ within our communities; those not known to social care or any of the other major agencies and as such are in danger of being missed.
