Overview

The BFSB provides safeguarding E-Learning training courses for all partner organisations in Bracknell Forest including voluntary, community and faith-based organisations.

The training is hosted by Virtual College, one of the UK's leading E-Learning colleges. They worked closely with local safeguarding partnerships to develop the courses.

About the courses

All modules have:

  • interactive learning screens
  • learner challenges
  • progress tracking
  • online assessment

The courses adhere to continuous professional development (CPD) guidelines, allowing you to learn at your own pace. You can complete the training in stages and save your progress.

Upon completing the course and passing the knowledge test, you will be able to print your own certificate. You can also revisit the module anytime to refresh your knowledge.

Face-to-Face Training

While our e-learning courses are comprehensive and convenient, we believe that face-to-face training is the most effective way to gain knowledge and consider how to apply this learning in practice. As a result we encourage all participants to attend in-person training sessions whenever possible.

If you are part of a community or voluntary organisation, you can contact Involve Community Services for more information and support regarding face-to-face training opportunities.

Refresher Training

It is essential for both staff/volunteers and their agencies to clearly understand the intervals at which refresher training should be completed. While some organisations may have specific mandates from their regulatory bodies, others will need to incorporate these requirements into their internal policies and procedures.

Refresher courses are available for all our Safeguarding Children, Safeguarding Adults and Safeguarding Everyone training modules. These courses ensure that your knowledge remains current and that you continue to meet the necessary safeguarding standards.

Course Completion Policy

Please inform your line manager before signing up for an E-Learning course, as they will be charged if you do not complete it.

You have 8 weeks to finish the module once registered. If you haven't completed it within this time your manager will be sent an invoice for £30.

We recommend that managers or head teachers do not sign up all their staff for E-Learning; staff should book these courses themselves.
